Athens, Greece

Lunch time! Just spent about 3.5 hours wandering the Acropolis & Agora, and now I need food. Apparently meatballs are a traditional Greek food? But at least I can be pretty sure there's nothing weird in them, and they were reasonably priced. Speaking of which, today was apparently a free entry day at the Acropolis. That meant there were probably more people there than usual, but it also saved me €12, so I'm going to call that a win.

Also! Before I forget, the customs section at the airport in Athens doesn't exist. There are different doors for EU/US/Other passports, but they all lead directly to the exit of the airport. I confirmed that with a lady from Vermont at the hostel... apparently they don't care who you are or where you're from, as long as you're willing to spend money.

I hate stairs. I really do. If I ever end up rich, my house will have escalators instead. In their defense though, they can lead to some pretty impressive views. Right now I'm taking a break at the top of (I think) Philopappou Hill, with a great view of the Acropolis & part of the city. I would never want to live there, but I must say that Athens is indeed pretty damn awesome.
